45th Death Anniversary of the Servant of God Frank Duff

November 7

Servant of God Frank Duff is the founder of the Legion of Mary, a lay apostolic movement that has transformed the lives of countless Catholics worldwide. His cause for canonization was officially introduced, recognizing his life of heroic virtue and dedication to evangelization.

Born on 7th June 1889, Frank Duff lived a life marked by profound faith and devotion to Our Lady. On 7th November 1979, he departed from this world at the age of 90, leaving behind a spiritual legacy that continues to inspire Legionaries across the globe.

To his personal life, little is known in depth, why? In his humility, Frank Duff avoided the spotlight, directing all glory to Our Blessed Mother. His writings and speeches, however, offer a glimpse into his deep spiritual convictions.

In a letter, he once wrote:
“If you associate yourself with Our Lady, you place yourself directly in the line of God’s great plan. You share in her work of crushing the head of the serpent, and nothing could be greater than that.”

“The Legion is not merely an organization; it is a way of life, a path to holiness through Mary. To serve in it is to serve under the Queen of Heaven herself.”
